Engaging scripture
The Bible is God’s special and unique revelation of Himself and His heart to the world. John 1 declares Jesus Christ is the Word who reveals God to us, His Story & His redemptive plan & purpose from creation in Genesis to the new heaven & new earth in Revelation. The fact that Almighty God has given us His Word should lead us to unceasing wonder and worship with a desire to know what He has to say.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
Make this a Rhythm in your life: What makes it a challenge for you to study God’s Word? Ask God to help you view engaging the Scriptures as a time to treasure rather than a task to complete. How might your perspective change if you opened the Bible expecting to hear the voice of God in order to know the heart of God?
