Encourager Training

  • Shoreline Church 9635 Westland Drive Knoxville, TN, 37922 (map)

Are you an Encourager?

Do you have a story of God’s faithfulness in your own life?
Do you enjoy hearing the stories of others?
Have you been told you’re a good listener?
Would you consider yourself perceptive and discerning?
Would you like to sharpen your skills in having conversations that could matter for eternity?
Do you have a good understanding of God’s Word and are you able to apply it in your own journey?

If you answered “yes” to most of the above questions, we’d like you to join us for a vital training for a new ministry here at Shoreline.

Encouragers are people who have been trained to walk alongside individuals who have identified a need in their life and would like to meet with someone for short-term (approximately 6 visits) spiritual direction or biblical guidance. Encouragers will also be utilized for providing care for attenders or partners who are home-bound, have suffered a loss through death, or need a visit while they’re in the hospital. They will also be asked to be available for post-service spiritual counseling and new partner interviews. Monthly “supervision and training” meetings will be necessary to maintain Encourager status and participation in the ministry.

Saturday, August 28 from 9am to 12pm and Saturday, September 11, again from 9-12, we will be offering our first training for Encouragers at Shoreline. Once we have a trained team of Encouragers, we will make space available during the week available for people who would like to utilize the ministry.
